The Mitsui Seiki HU40A is a horizontal machining center designed for precision machining with a robust work support table sized 15.75" x 15.75", capable of holding workpieces up to 1,071 lbs. It features a horizontal spindle with a #40 taper, standard top speed of 8,000 RPM and optional upgrade to 12,000 RPM, driven by a 10 HP motor (upgradable to 40 HP) providing high cutting power. The spindle’s horizontal orientation optimizes chip evacuation and facilitates machining of heavy parts. Tooling is managed via an automatic tool changer (ATC) standard with 60 tools, expandable to 120, ensuring efficient tool management and minimal downtime with a rapid 1-second tool change cycle. Optional pallet changing capability supports up to 10 pallets, enhancing production flexibility. The machine operates on three axes (X, Y, Z), each offering 22.05" travel, with rapid traverse speeds reaching 1,417 inches per minute, enabling fast and precise positioning. Although four-axis operation is optional, the base model does not include a U-axis. The system can be configured with a support rotary table, further extending its machining capabilities. Its compact yet rigid design supports heavy-duty medium to large part machining with enhanced accuracy and productivity, suitable for demanding manufacturing environments requiring high throughput and precision horizontal milling.
