Technical Description
The Burkhardt+Weber MCX 1400 is a high-capacity horizontal machining center designed for heavy-duty industrial machining. It features a spacious 62.99" x 62.99" standard support index table capable of handling workpieces up to 26,400 lbs, with optional rotary table support for enhanced versatility. The machine is equipped with a robust horizontal spindle featuring an HSK-A 100 taper, standard 4,000 RPM rotational speed, and an optional upgrade to 6,000 RPM. The spindle power is substantial, rated at 49.3 HP for 30-minute duty cycle, with an optional 80 HP upgrade for demanding machining tasks. The automatic tool changer (ATC) accommodates 120 tools as standard, expandable to 570 tools, with a 15-second tool change chip time. Additionally, an optional pallet changer supports 2 pallets, extendable to 8 pallets, enabling efficient workpiece handling and minimizing downtime.
The machining center operates with 3 axes (X, Y, and Z), with optional 4th-axis functionality, providing a large travel envelope of up to 137.8" in X, 98.4" in Y, and 98.4" in Z, all capable of rapid traverse rates of 1,768 inches per minute. The B-axis offers full 360° rotary capability. The MCX 1400's design incorporates high rigidity and precision, suitable for large-scale and complex parts in heavy industries. Optional features, including rotary tables and extended tooling and pallets, further enhance its flexibility for diverse applications, combining power, precision, and efficiency in a horizontal machining platform.
