Technical Description
The CASE CX500D ME is a heavy-duty mass excavation crawler excavator optimized for large-scale earthmoving operations. It features a maximum digging depth of 21.3 feet and a maximum reach along the ground of 34.6 feet, enabling efficient excavation and loading tasks. The machine is powered by a high-performance engine delivering 362 horsepower (270 kW), meeting Tier 4 Final emissions standards through advanced selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, eliminating the need for a diesel particulate filter and associated maintenance. With an operating weight of 111,800 lbs (50,700 kg), the CX500D offers substantial stability and breakout forces of up to 70,400 lbs, supporting the use of larger buckets for mass excavation applications.
Its robust boom and stick design, including a 6.5-meter mass excavation boom and a heavy-duty 2.5-meter arm, enhances durability and power for demanding jobs. The CASE Intelligent Hydraulic System integrates multiple control systems to optimize hydraulic power, improve cycle times, and enhance fuel efficiency. Features such as Boom Economy Control, Auto Economy Control, Swing Relief Control, and Spool Stroke Control collectively reduce fuel consumption and extend component life.
The operator cabin is designed for superior comfort and safety, featuring a pressurized and vibration-reducing structure, adjustable heated air-suspension seating, armrests, and controls, plus excellent visibility through floor-to-ceiling safety glass and multiple camera systems including an optional Max View 270-degree aerial camera. Serviceability is simplified with grouped service points, oil sampling ports, and easily accessible cooler cores, while the CASE ProCare maintenance program provides a 3-year/2,000-hour planned maintenance package to maximize uptime and reduce ownership costs. Overall, the CASE CX500D ME combines powerful performance, fuel efficiency, operator comfort, and easy maintenance tailored for heavy excavation projects.
