The Caterpillar IT62G is a robust medium wheel loader featuring a Cat 3126 DITA six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine delivering 200 hp (149 kW) net power and a maximum of 207 hp (154 kW). It has a displacement of 439.4 cubic inches (7.2 liters) with a bore and stroke of 4.3 in and 5 in, respectively, providing a total torque rise of 41.2%. The machine operates at a weight of approximately 40,380 lbs (18,316 kg), equipped with fixed front axles and oscillating rear axles allowing a maximum single-wheel rise and fall of 19 inches (48 cm).
