Technical Description

The Clark 35B wheel loader is a versatile, medium-sized loader designed for efficient material handling. It features a 7 ft (2 m) wide bucket with a heaped capacity of 1.4 cubic yards (1 m³) and a breakout force of 10,656 lbs (4,834 kg), allowing effective loading and dumping operations. The bucket can dump materials at a maximum clearance height of 8.8 ft (2 m), with a reach of 3.3 ft (1 m) at full lift and dump. The loader measures 18.1 ft (5 m) in length with the bucket on the ground, stands 9.5 ft (3 m) tall at the cab, and has a ground clearance of 1.2 ft (0 m). Its wheelbase is 7.8 ft (2 m) with a turning radius of 16.8 ft (5 m), providing good maneuverability in confined workspaces. Powered by a six-cylinder Isuzu D500PL engine with a displacement of approximately 304 cu in, it delivers 84 hp (63 kW) gross and 74 hp (55 kW) net power, measured at 2,200 rpm, and peak torque at 1,600 rpm. The hydraulic system includes a gear-type pump with a flow capacity of 32.3 gal/min (121 l/min), achieving fast cycle times: 1.1 seconds to dump, 6 seconds to raise, and 3.4 seconds to lower. The system operates at a relief valve setting of 2,275 psi, with a hydraulic fluid capacity of 21.7 gal (79 l). The 24-volt electrical system supports a 25-amp alternator. The loader’s operating weight is 14,418 lbs (6,540 kg), equipped with 12.00-24 8PR (L-2) tires. It uses a countershaft powershift transmission with three forward and three reverse gears, enabling max speeds of about 21 mph (34 kph) in both directions. The rear axle oscillates 24° for stability on uneven terrain, and fuel capacity is 25.1 gal (95 l). Transmission and axle fluid capacities range from 3.7 to 4.5 gallons.
