Technical Description
The DECKEL MAHO DMC60T is a high-performance horizontal machining center designed for versatile and precise machining operations. It accommodates workpieces up to 23.62 inches in diameter and 22.64 inches in height, supporting a maximum weight of 882 lbs. The machine features an integrated motor spindle capable of reaching speeds up to 24,000 rpm, enabling high-speed milling and drilling with exceptional accuracy. The milling head swivels within a 150-degree range, achieving full swivel in just 1.5 seconds, with a holding momentum of 1,620 ft-lbs clamped and 1,438 ft-lbs unclamped at a 40% duty cycle, facilitating complex 5-axis machining tasks.
Axis travels include X: 780 mm, Y: 560 mm, and Z: 560 mm, with ball screw dimensions of 1.57"x0.8" for X/Y and 1.97"x0.8" for Z, optimized for rigidity and precision positioning. The machine supports rapid traverses up to 50,000 mm/min on linear axes, ensuring efficient machining cycles. Tool management is enhanced by a fast tool change system, with change times around 0.8 seconds and chip-to-chip times of roughly 4 seconds (vertical) and 10 seconds (horizontal). The tool magazine holds up to 60 tools, accommodating a maximum tool diameter of 160 mm and length of 315 mm.
Coolant delivery is robust, with a 238-gallon tank supplying coolant at 580 PSI and a flow rate of 6 gallons per minute, improving thermal stability and chip evacuation. The CNC control system is the Heidenhain iTNC530, featuring electronic handwheel control, dual-processor architecture running Windows 2000, OMAT adaptive control, and an Application Tuning Cycle for automatic tool correction. Position feedback is provided by Heidenhain glass scales on the X, Y, and Z axes and rotary encoders on the B and C rotary axes, ensuring high positional accuracy essential for complex multi-axis machining. This machining center is suitable for high-precision, high-speed manufacturing environments requiring 5-axis simultaneous machining capabilities.
