Technical Description
The DMG MORI SEIKI NHX4000 is a high-performance horizontal machining center designed for precision and efficiency in demanding manufacturing environments. It features a robust X, Y, and Z-axis travel of 22", 22", and 26" respectively, with rapid traverse rates up to 2,362 inches per minute on all axes, enabling swift and dynamic machining operations. The machine is equipped with a powerful 40 HP spindle motor capable of reaching 20,000 RPM, mounted on a CAT 40 taper spindle, which supports high-speed, high-precision cutting across various materials.
The NHX4000 supports a maximum pallet load of 800 lbs on its 15.7" x 15.7" pallet, accommodating workpieces up to 24.8" in diameter and 35" in height, making it versatile for medium-sized parts. The spindle-to-pallet distance ranges between 3.15" and 25", with a spindle nose-to-pallet center distance from 2.8" to 28.7", providing flexibility in workpiece positioning. The machine incorporates a 40-tool automatic tool changer (ATC) for efficient and continuous machining cycles.
Constructed with a thick, high-rigidity bed and stepped X-axis guideways, the NHX4000 ensures stable, precise machining. It features advanced components such as Magnescale direct scale feedback on all axes for high-accuracy positioning (resolution up to 0.01 µm), direct drive rotary table options for smooth 4th axis operations, and enhanced chip and coolant management systems including through-spindle coolant capabilities. It offers automation-friendly interfaces, including hydraulic and pneumatic options, supporting pallet, tool handling, and integration with robotic systems.
This model measures 107" x 165" x 108" and weighs approximately 16,720 lbs, ideal for production environments requiring compact yet powerful horizontal milling solutions.
