Technical Description

The DN Solutions NHP 5500 2nd Generation is an advanced horizontal machining center engineered for high-precision, high-productivity operations. This machine features a robust one-piece Meehanite cast iron bed with a stable 3-point leveling system, ensuring exceptional rigidity and vibration dampening for consistent accuracy. The centerpiece is a powerful 10,000 RPM spindle with CAT 50 Big Plus taper system, delivering 644 Nm of maximum torque and simultaneous taper-flange contact for superior rigidity. The machine accommodates a 60-tool automatic tool changer with an impressive 1.7-second tool-to-tool change time, minimizing non-cutting time and maximizing throughput. Motion capabilities are exceptional, with rapid traverse rates of 2,362 ipm across X, Y, and Z axes and acceleration/deceleration rates exceeding 1G. Work envelope dimensions of 31.5" x 29.5" x 35.43" support parts up to 900mm in diameter and 1,100mm in height on a 500mm x 500mm pallet rated for 800kg maximum load. The machine incorporates advanced thermal compensation systems, including spindle thermal control, ball screw shaft and nut cooling, and thermal displacement sensors for reliable long-term precision machining. Standard Through Spindle Coolant (TSC) delivery at 215-225 psi pressure enables aggressive feeds and speeds. The FANUC 31i-B CNC control provides seamless operation and advanced programming capabilities, while the Automatic Pallet Changer facilitates flexible production workflows.
