Technical Description

The Dynapac CC522 is a tandem vibratory smooth drum roller designed for high-performance asphalt compaction on roads, highways, and large paving projects. This articulated roller features two smooth drums with a width of 76.8 in (1950 mm) and a diameter of 55.2 in (1400 mm), delivering a static linear load of 460.9 lb/in (32.4 kg/cm) for consistent mat density. It is equipped with a Cummins 4AA BT3.9-C engine producing 124.8 hp (92 kW), providing reliable power for continuous operation. The roller offers dual vibration settings with a frequency of 51 Hz (3060 vpm) and selectable amplitude: high at 0.03 in (0.7 mm) and low at 0.01 in (0.3 mm), generating centrifugal forces of 31,023.7 lb (138 kN) in high mode and 15,736.7 lb (70 kN) in low mode. With an operating weight of 26,124.8 lb (11,850 kg) and a maximum speed of 7.5 mph (12 km/h), the CC522 combines strong compaction performance with good mobility on job sites. Its articulated steering ensures excellent maneuverability and a tight turning radius, while the tandem drum design provides uniform compaction across the full drum width. The machine has an overall length of 16.7 ft (5090 mm) and a cab height of 10 ft (3040 mm), offering good visibility and operator comfort. Suitable for medium to large asphalt applications, the Dynapac CC522 is a durable, efficient compactor widely used in road construction and maintenance.
