Technical Description
The FFG MAG VDF 450 T is a dual-spindle horizontal machining center designed for high-precision turning and milling operations. It features two main spindles, each capable of a maximum turning diameter of 25.59 inches and a turning length of up to 52 inches, with optional extension to 178 inches. Each spindle is equipped with an 18-inch diameter chuck and delivers up to 132 HP at 2,800 RPM, with optional speeds up to 3,100 RPM and power ratings up to 65 HP. The machine supports simultaneous use of two cutting tools through dual turrets, each capable of holding up to 12 turning and 12 rotary tools, enhancing versatility and efficiency. It incorporates a 6-axis configuration with X, Y, and Z travels of 13.0", 7.87", and up to 52.0" (or 178.0" optional), respectively, all with rapid traverse rates of 590 inches per minute. The machine includes standard secondary milling and drilling functions on- and off-center, with ‘C’ and ‘Y’ axis capabilities for complex machining. The robust construction, including polymer concrete bed and high-quality linear roller guides, ensures exceptional rigidity, thermal stability, and long-term precision ideal for complex, heavy-duty parts. This center is optimized for automotive, railway, and powertrain component manufacturing, offering complete machining capabilities such as hard and soft turning, milling, drilling, and finishing in a single setup to minimize production times and costs. Its modular design supports flexible configurations to meet diverse production requirements, delivering high productivity, reliability, and low part costs for medium to high volume manufacturing.
