Technical Description
The FRYER EASY TURN-18 is a compact horizontal machining center designed for precision turning tasks with a maximum spindle turning diameter of 9.130", longitudinal turning length up to 40.000", and an 18.000" maximum spindle swing. It features a single main spindle with an 8.000" chuck diameter, driven at up to 2,500 RPM with 7.5 HP, providing stable and efficient cutting performance. The machine employs a turret tool carrier accommodating up to 8 turning tools, with the capability to operate one cutting tool simultaneously over two axes (X and Z). The X-axis offers 10.000" travel distance and a rapid feed rate of 400 inches per minute, while the Z-axis supports 37.000" travel, optionally extendable to 57.000", matching the X-axis feed rates for fast, precise machining cycles. The system’s 2-axis control, combined with ergonomic CNC features such as handle-driven “Do One” cycles and electronic stops, streamlines setup and operation for small batch and toolmaking environments. The machine construction includes thermally stable Meehanite castings, hardened and ground ways with Turcite B liners, and C3 grade double nut ball screws, ensuring high rigidity, accuracy within ±0.0002", and long-term reliability. The Fryer Touch 2100 Siemens CNC interface supports manual, semi-automatic, and full CNC modes with graphics verification and simple menu programming, enhancing productivity by simplifying complex turning, threading, and chamfering tasks. Overall, the EASY TURN-18 merges the familiarity of conventional lathes with CNC productivity in a durable, precise, and user-friendly toolroom turning center.
