A+Technical Description
The Fryer Machine Systems TR-40 is a 5-axis vertical machining center built on a rigid box-way platform, delivering exceptional performance for complex contouring applications. The machine features a 40" x 20" primary work table with an optional 8" x 8" configuration, accommodating workpieces up to 3,000 lbs. Its vertical spindle utilizes CAT 40 or optional BT 40 taper tooling, achieving spindle speeds of 8,500 RPM standard or 12,000 RPM optional, with 25 HP continuous power delivery. The 5-axis configuration includes 40" X-axis, 20" Y-axis, and 29" Z-axis travels, plus a 220° A-axis on the trunnion rotary table for full 5-axis contouring capabilities. All axes deliver rapid traverse rates of 1,200 IPM and cutting feedrates up to 900 IPM. The machine incorporates a 24-tool high-speed automatic tool changer with exceptional 3-second tool change time, enhancing productivity in multi-operation setups. Construction features include box-way design with Turcite B liners, C3 grade double-nut ball screws with class 7 bearings, and laser-calibrated, ballbar-verified axes for precision tolerances of ±0.0002" across the entire travel range. The integrated automatic lubrication system with low-lube fault detection, dual fluorescent work lamps, door safety switch, and early power failure detection ensure reliable operation. Equipped with the Fryer 2100 CNC control featuring Siemens 5-axis technology, conversational programming capabilities, and digital drives, this machine delivers hand-built precision suitable for demanding aerospace, medical, and complex component manufacturing applications.
