Technical Description
This CNC vertical machining center features a robust worktable measuring 73" x 24" capable of supporting workpieces up to 4,000 lbs without dedicated support tables, though an optional rotary support table is available. It operates on a 3-axis system (X, Y, Z) with an optional 4th axis, providing travel distances of 60", 30", and 28" respectively. Each axis supports a maximum feed rate of 600 ipm and rapid traverse speeds of up to 1,000 ipm, enabling efficient machining cycles. The machine spindle is vertically oriented with a CAT #40 taper, optional BT-40 configuration, and delivers a standard top speed of 8,000 RPM, extendable to 10,000 RPM with an upgraded spindle. Spindle power is rated at 25 HP for 30-minute duty, with an optional 40 HP upgrade for enhanced performance.
Tool handling is managed via an automatic tool changer (ATC) holding 20 tools by default, expandable to 24 tools, with a rapid tool change time of 3 seconds, facilitating minimal downtime during operations. No pallet changer is included. Mechanically, this setup is suitable for heavy-duty milling requiring high rigidity and precision over a large work envelope. The combination of high spindle power, large worktable load capacity, and efficient tool management supports machining of large and heavy parts typically found in automotive, aerospace, or die-making applications. The option for rotary support and an additional 4th axis provides flexibility for complex geometries and multi-sided machining in a single setup. This machine balances power, precision, and versatility for demanding manufacturing environments.
