Technical Description
The HELLER FP 4000 is a high-performance 5-axis horizontal machining center designed for demanding, precision machining applications. With an X-axis travel of 31.496 inches, Y-axis travel of 31.496 inches, and Z-axis travel of 41.142 inches, the machine offers extensive working envelope capabilities for versatile part processing. The pallet measures 19.685 inches in width and 24.803 inches in length, supporting workpieces up to 750 kg, making it suitable for both medium and heavy-duty production. The FP 4000 features a robust 5-axis kinematic system, combining a rotary table (B-axis) with a swivel head, enabling complete 5-sided and simultaneous 5-axis machining for complex geometries. The machining unit delivers up to 44 kW power and 242 Nm torque, with a spindle speed of 10,000 rpm and HSK 63 spindle taper, ensuring high cutting performance and rigidity for materials such as titanium, steel, and light alloys. The machine is equipped with twin drives in the Z-axis for enhanced stability, accuracy, and dynamic response, even at upper stroke positions. Linear axes utilize roller guideways and ball screw drives, while direct absolute measuring systems guarantee maximum precision and minimal positioning tolerance. The FP 4000 includes a high-capacity tool changer with two NC axes for rapid tool changes and short chip-to-chip times, supporting up to 150 tools with HSK-A 63. Integrated laser tool measurement, media interface for hydraulic workpiece clamping, and a Siemens SINUMERIK 840D sl CNC control system provide advanced automation, process reliability, and ease of operation. The design emphasizes ergonomic accessibility, efficient chip disposal, and low maintenance, making the FP 4000 ideal for high-productivity environments in aerospace, automotive, and mold-and-die industries.
