Technical Description
The Heller H 5000 is a high-performance 4-axis horizontal machining center designed for versatile, heavy-duty machining with excellent rigidity and precision. It features a 24.8 x 24.8-inch table supporting workpieces up to 2,200 lbs, optimized for stable and robust machining operations. The horizontal spindle utilizes an HSK-A100 taper, delivering up to 8,000 rpm standard, with an optional upgrade to 12,500 rpm, powered by a 57 HP motor (optional 69 HP) for high torque and cutting capacity. The machine supports a tool magazine with automatic tool changer (ATC) holding 50 tools by default, expandable up to 425, enabling continuous operation with a rapid tool change chip time of 3.4 seconds.
The X, Y, and Z axes each have 31.5 inches of travel with rapid traverse speeds of 1,965 inches per minute, ensuring fast and precise positioning, while a 360-degree B-axis rotary table adds flexibility for complex part geometries. A standard dual-pallet changer system enhances productivity by allowing tons to be changed swiftly, minimizing downtime.
Constructed with a cast iron base and topology-optimized components, the H 5000 ensures maximum structural stability, thermal balance, and damping, critical for high-precision cutting. Integrated features such as a pallet changer with lift-swivel principle, linear roller guideways, and direct measuring systems contribute to shortened idle times and exceptional machining dynamics. Suitable for high-volume and flexible production environments, the H 5000 accommodates machining of steel, cast iron, and light metals with high repeatability and process reliability.
