Technical Description
The Hitachi ZX200 is a medium-sized hydraulic excavator engineered for powerful and efficient earthmoving tasks. It features a turbocharged, intercooled AA-6BGIT engine with a displacement of 396.3 cubic inches (6.494 liters), generating a net power output of 147 hp (110 kW) at 2100 rpm and a maximum torque of 405.7 lb-ft at 1600 rpm. The machine's operating weight is approximately 42,770 lbs (19,400 kg), with a width of 9.2 ft and a height to top of cab around 9.7 to 10.3 ft depending on configuration. The standard shipping length is about 31.1 to 31.6 ft.
The ZX200 offers three boom/stick options, each with differing operating parameters:
- Option 1 delivers a max cutting height of 30.1 ft, max digging depth of 19.7 ft, max loading height of 21 ft, and max reach along the ground of 29.8 ft.
- Option 2 increases cutting height to 31.5 ft, digging depth to 21.9 ft, loading height to 22.3 ft, and reach to 32 ft.
- Option 3 extends these values further: max cutting height of 33.6 ft, digging depth of 26.8 ft, loading height of 24.4 ft, and max reach along ground of 36.5 ft.
The excavator’s bucket capacity ranges from 0.7 to 1.2 cubic yards, with a reference capacity of 1.1 cubic yards. The hydraulic system operates at a relief valve pressure of 4980 psi with a pump flow capacity of 102.5 gallons per minute to ensure efficient power delivery. Ground clearance is 1.5 ft, with a tail swing radius of about 9.1 ft, and track gauge of 7.3 ft. The undercarriage features 46 shoes per side, 7 track rollers, and a max travel speed of 3.5 mph with a ground pressure of 6.3 psi. The swing mechanism runs at 13.3 rpm with a fluid capacity of 1.7 gallons.
Additional technical highlights include a 24-volt operating voltage, 95.2-gallon fuel capacity, and a 50-amp alternator, enabling prolonged operation with reliable electrical power. This model balances power, reach, and versatility suitable for diverse construction and excavation applications.
