Technical Description

The Hyundai WIA KBN135 Horizontal Machining Center features a robust 78.7" x 70.9" Meehanite cast iron table capable of supporting workpieces up to 22,046 lbs. It is equipped with a horizontal #50 taper spindle driven by a 3-step gear mechanism, delivering up to 2,500 RPM and 30–35 HP with double-row angular contact ball bearings for enhanced precision and durability. The spindle includes an oil jacket cooler and offers stable high-torque machining at both low and high speeds. Tooling is managed via a fixed address tool carrier with a standard capacity of 20 tools, expandable to 30, and features a tool change time of 30 seconds with chip-to-chip time of 70 seconds. This machine provides 4 axes of motion, with travel ranges of 118.1" (X), 78.7" (Y), and 63" (Z) and rapid traverse rates of up to 315 inches per minute. It includes linear and rotary scales for ultra-precision positioning and a rigid tapping function. The massive Meehanite cast iron structure with wide induction hardened, precision-ground guideways and low-friction fluoroplastic resin ways ensure optimal rigidity and precision. The machine supports flood coolant with 290 PSI through-spindle coolant and has provisions for chip conveyors and telescopic covers for maintenance ease. Control is typically via FANUC CNC systems. Designed for heavy-duty cutting and high precision, the KBN135 is suitable for demanding metalworking applications requiring both versatility and reliability. Pallet changers are not standard, and workpiece support tables or rotary tables are not included as options in the base model.
