Technical Description
The Komatsu PC490LCi-11 is a high-performance hydraulic excavator designed for heavy-duty construction and mining applications. It features a robust operating weight of approximately 107,850 lbs (48,920 kg), optimized for stability and durability during demanding operations. Powered by a Tier 4 Final engine delivering 359 hp (268 kW) at 1,900 rpm, the machine balances power and fuel efficiency with advanced aftertreatment systems, including a Komatsu Diesel Particulate Filter (KDPF) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to reduce emissions. Its hydraulic system uses large displacement implement pumps that provide high flow output at lower engine RPM, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
The PC490LCi-11 is equipped with a 7,060 mm (23'2") one-piece heavy-duty boom and a 3,380 mm (11'1") arm, paired with SAE heaped bucket capacities ranging from 1.47 to 4.15 cubic yards (1.12 to 3.17 m³). The excavator offers a maximum digging depth of 27.5 ft and a maximum reach along the ground of 41.3 ft, supporting a wide range of excavation tasks. The machine control system is factory-integrated and intelligent, combining hydraulic stroke sensing cylinders with GNSS and IMU sensors, enabling semi-automatic operation to reduce over-excavation and enhance accuracy.
Additional features include six selectable working modes that adjust engine speed and hydraulic flow to optimize productivity and fuel economy, heavy-duty undercarriage components for durability, and a spacious, ergonomically designed cab with a high-resolution LCD display, rearview camera, and adjustable seating. Safety is enhanced via mechanical disc parking brakes, hydraulic locks, reinforced guards, and slip-resistant steps, making the Komatsu PC490LCi-11 a reliable, efficient, and operator-friendly machine for large-scale excavation projects.
