A+Technical Description
The Makino V77 Graphite is a vertical machining center engineered for high-precision die and mold applications, featuring a robust 55.1" × 27.6" table capable of supporting workpieces up to 5,510 lbs. The machine is equipped with a CAT40 spindle (HSK-A63, HSK-F63) delivering 20,000 RPM standard, with an optional 30,000 RPM capability, providing 25 HP at 30-minute rating. The three-axis configuration offers 47.2" (X), 27.6" (Y), and 25.2" (Z) travel distances with rapid traverse rates of 787 ipm across all axes and maximum cutting feedrates of 787 ipm. The automatic tool changer accommodates up to 80 tools with an exceptionally fast 5-second tool-to-tool change time, enhancing production efficiency. Featuring a low-vibration, high-speed spindle combined with Makino's proprietary GI.5 control system, the V77 Graphite delivers high-accuracy, high-speed machining. The machine incorporates a fully enclosed splash guard that completely seals graphite dust for a clean shop environment, while supporting dry machining of graphite, steel, and castings. Designed specifically to minimize thermal distortion, the V77 Graphite employs Makino's patented core-cooled, under-race lubrication system and twin shield-style splash guards to reduce temperature-related factory effects, ensuring micron-order accuracy and superior surface finishes on hardened steel cavities and cores.
