Technical Description
The MAZAK QT 250MSY is a high-performance horizontal machining center designed for multi-tasking turning operations with a 20-inch bed length. It features a main spindle capable of handling a maximum turning diameter of 13.4 inches and a maximum turning length of 23.5 inches, equipped with a 10-inch chuck and a spindle swing of 27.4 inches. The main spindle operates at up to 4,000 RPM with 20 HP power, while the sub spindle runs at 6,000 RPM with 10 HP. The machine supports bar diameters up to 1.7 inches. Its primary tool carrier is a 12-position turret designed for turning, allowing one tool to simultaneously cut. It is a 5-axis machine with travel capabilities of 8.5 inches on the X-axis, 4 inches on the Y-axis, and 23.85 inches on the Z-axis, providing flexibility for complex machining. The QT 250MSY integrates milling and Y-axis functionality with its second spindle to enable DONE IN ONE® operations. The direct-drive turret improves part surface finish and reduces maintenance by eliminating belts. The machine is equipped with SmoothG CNC control featuring MAZATROL conversational programming, diagnostics, and both EIA/ISO programming standards. It supports automation options such as bar feeders or gantry robot loaders for enhanced productivity. The high rigidity construction, built-in spindle motor, and roller guideways ensure precise, stable machining at high speeds and heavy cutting loads, making it ideal for demanding manufacturing environments requiring efficient, accurate multi-axis turning and milling processes.
