Technical Description
This CNC machining center features substantial axis travels with X-axis at 40 inches, Y-axis at 20 inches, and Z-axis at 16 inches, allowing for versatile machining of medium to large workpieces. It is equipped with a spindle capable of reaching speeds up to 6,000 RPM, running a CAT 40 taper spindle interface, which is a standard widely used for high-speed and precision tooling with an 8-degree taper angle and flange for automatic tool changes. The tool magazine has a 20-station Automatic Tool Changer (ATC), optimizing productivity by enabling rapid tool swaps under control of a Fanuc CNC system, known for reliability and wide industry adoption.
Additionally, the machine includes a 4th axis indexer, providing the same travel range (X: 40", Y: 20", Z: 16"), spindle speed (6,000 RPM), CAT 40 spindle taper, and a 20-tool magazine with Fanuc control. This 4th axis capability enhances the machine’s versatility by allowing rotational indexing for complex multi-axis machining operations such as contouring, angular cutting, and complicated fixture setups.
The use of CAT 40 taper ensures precise and stable tool holding, reducing runout and wear, which is crucial for maintaining machining accuracy. The Fanuc controller offers advanced programming and motion control features to support complex machining sequences. Overall, this CNC system is designed for efficient, precise, and flexible machining tasks, suitable for applications requiring automated tool changes and multi-axis capabilities.
