Technical Description
The MS Machining HMC-200 is a robust 4-axis CNC horizontal machining center optimized for heavy-duty, precise metalworking. It features a 39" x 39" standard support index table capable of holding workpieces up to 10,000 lbs, with optional rotary table support. The machine travel spans 78" in the X-axis (expandable up to 120"), 58" in the Y-axis (optional up to 72"), and 58" in the Z-axis, enabling machining of large and complex parts with minimized setups. The spindle, oriented horizontally with a CAT 50 taper, delivers a powerful 30 HP (30-minute rating) and operates up to 3,000 RPM, supporting high-torque cutting with heavy cutters for efficient cycle times.
The machine is equipped with a 48-position automatic tool changer (ATC), expandable optionally to 76 tools, facilitating flexible tool management for varied machining operations. Pallet changers are optional, supporting configurations from two up to four pallets to enhance productivity through efficient workpiece handling. The B-axis offers a 360° rotational capability, providing full contouring flexibility without repositioning.
Its construction emphasizes durability and accuracy, utilizing precision bearing cartridges that allow tension adjustments to maintain alignment and reduce wear, ensuring long-term machining accuracy. Control is provided by an advanced Fanuc i Series CNC system with high-speed data transfer for reliable, precise, and efficient machining operations. Overall, the HMC-200 combines a large work envelope, high load capacity, flexible tooling, and advanced control technology, making it suitable for heavy, complex parts requiring precision and productivity in manufacturing environments.
