Technical Description
The Niigata Machine Techno USA, Inc. HN100D-BAR is a 5-axis horizontal machining center designed for heavy-duty precision machining. It features a 39.37" x 39.37" standard support index table capable of handling workpieces up to 7,700 lbs. The machine operates with a horizontal spindle configuration, utilizing a CAT/BT #50 taper spindle running at speeds up to 6,000 rpm, powered by a robust 50 hp motor rated for 30 minutes. The tool management system includes a standard automatic tool changer (ATC) with a 60-tool capacity, expandable to 239 tools, offering a quick 11.8-second tool change time. Dual pallets are standard, with options to increase up to 50 for enhanced production throughput.
Axes travels are substantial: X-axis at 79.92", Y-axis at 59.06", and Z-axis at 47.24", all capable of rapid traverse rates up to 787 inches per minute and feed rates of 236 inches per minute, supporting high-speed and high-precision machining operations. The B-axis offers 360 degrees of rotation for complex contouring and multi-face machining, although it has no U-axis. The machine’s construction incorporates a heavy-duty boxway design with hand-scraped wide hardened guideways for superior rigidity and vibration damping, assuring long-term precision and durability under heavy milling cuts. Optional rotary tables and pallet changers enhance versatility. The HN100D-BAR is suitable for demanding applications requiring a combination of large work envelope, high spindle power, automated tool handling, and multi-axis machining capabilities.
