Technical Description
The Niigata Machine Techno USA, Inc. HN1600-S is a high-capacity horizontal machining center featuring a robust hybrid guideway system with ultra heavy-duty roller guides on the X and Z axes and a hardened ground box way on the Y axis, ensuring superior vibration damping and accuracy. It has a large work table measuring 62.990" x 51.970" capable of supporting workpieces up to 17,600 lbs. The machine incorporates a horizontal CT #50 spindle with a standard speed of up to 6,000 RPM powered by a 50 HP motor (with 35 HP optional), delivering strong cutting power and reliable performance. The tool handling is managed by an automatic tool changer (ATC) supporting up to 62 tools standard, expandable to 255, with tool change times of 6.5 seconds and chip-to-chip times of 12 seconds. The center comes equipped with a standard pallet changer system supporting 2 pallets, with an option to extend up to 50 pallets for enhanced workflow. It operates on 4 axes (optional 5th axis), with travels of 120.1" in X, 86.61" in Y (optionally 80.71"), and 55.9" in Z, and a full 360° B-axis rotation. Rapid traverse rates reach up to 1,181 ipm. The HN1600-S’s solid construction and advanced motion system make it ideal for heavy-duty, precise machining of large components in aerospace, automotive, and heavy equipment industries, combining scale, speed, and accuracy in a single platform.
