Technical Description
The Niigata Machine Techno USA, Inc. HN80D is a high-performance horizontal machining center designed for versatile, heavy-duty industrial applications. It features a robust 31.5" x 31.5" worktable capable of supporting up to 5,500 lbs of workpiece weight, providing substantial capacity for large components. The machine operates on four axes, including a full 4th axis B rotary axis with 360° rotation for complex machining tasks, and offers travels of 60.2" (X), 48.4" (Y), and 40.2" (Z) with rapid traverse rates up to 1,181 ipm, enabling high-speed precision machining. The 50 HP horizontal spindle, equipped with a CAT #50 taper, achieves speeds up to 6,000 RPM, supporting a wide range of cutting operations.
The tool handling system includes an automatic tool changer (ATC) with a standard 60-tool capacity, expandable optionally to as many as 239 tools, with a tool change time of approximately 6.5 seconds, maximizing productivity. A pallet changer with two standard pallets, expandable to 50, facilitates continuous operation and part loading/unloading efficiency. The machine is equipped with heavy-duty box guideways for rigidity and precision and integrates advanced control via a Fanuc 30i-A CNC system, supporting features like helical interpolation, rigid tapping, and tool breakage detection.
Additional high-precision features include Renishaw probing options, coolant-through-spindle capability, chip management systems, and a spindle load monitor. The HN80D is optimized for high-speed, accurate machining in demanding production environments, combining robust construction with advanced CNC technology for maximum efficiency and flexibility.
