The NILES-SIMMONS-HEGENSCHEIDT-MFD CORPORATION N20 MC is a high-performance horizontal machining center designed for universal, flexible, and precise complete machining of rotationally symmetrical workpieces. It features a main spindle with a maximum turning diameter of 25.000" and a maximum turning length of 39.000", supporting both chuck and bar work with a chuck diameter up to 10.000" and bar diameter up to 3.000". The machine is equipped with a single main spindle delivering 45 HP and a maximum speed of 3,800 RPM, with an optional lower speed setting of 2,000 RPM. The primary tool carrier is a turn/mill head, accommodating up to 60 turning tools and 60 rotary tools, with rotary tools providing up to 29 HP and 6,000 RPM. The N20 MC supports up to four axes, enabling complex multi-tasking operations. Axis travels are 25.980" on X, 13.700" on Y, and 39.000" on Z (extendable to 137.000" as an option). All axes offer a maximum feed rate and rapid traverse of 982 ipm, ensuring high-speed precision and efficiency.
