Technical Description

The Okuma MA-600HII is a high-precision 4-axis horizontal machining center designed for heavy-duty cutting and continuous die/mold production. It features a 24.8" x 24.8" indexed table supporting workpieces up to 2,640 lbs, with an optional rotary table. The machine is equipped with a #50 taper horizontal spindle running at up to 6,000 RPM (optional 12,000 RPM) powered by a 40 HP motor (30 HP optional), offering robust performance for a variety of machining applications. Tool management includes a 400-tool Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) with a 2-second tool change time and a pallet changer standard with 2 pallets, expandable to 8. The X, Y, and Z axes provide travels of 39.37", 35.43", and 39.37" respectively, with rapid traverse rates of 2,362 ipm for all three axes, ensuring fast and precise positioning. The B axis rotates 360° to enable complex multi-face machining. The MA-600HII's rigid construction and advanced control (OSP brand) ensure stable, high-accuracy machining of large and heavy components, supporting both fine detail and mass production. Optional spindle configurations, including HSK-A63 taper, and pallet change expansion make it adaptable for diverse manufacturing needs. This machine’s combination of high power, large workspace, extensive tooling capacity, and rapid axis movements makes it well-suited for demanding industrial manufacturing environments requiring reliable, continuous, and precise metal cutting operations.
