Technical Description

The Okuma MB-4000H is a high-speed, thermally stable 4-axis horizontal machining center featuring a 15.75" x 15.75" rotary pallet capable of supporting workpieces up to 880 lbs. It offers X, Y, and Z travels of 22.05", 22.05", and 24.61" respectively with rapid traverse rates up to 2,362 ipm for efficient part processing. The machine is equipped with a #40 taper spindle running at a standard maximum speed of 15,000 rpm, optionally upgradable to 20,000 rpm, powered by a 34 hp motor with an optional 40 hp upgrade, delivering high torque for demanding machining tasks. Tool handling is managed by an automatic tool changer (ATC) supporting up to 218 tools, facilitating short tool changes and minimizing downtime. The MB-4000H incorporates advanced thermal compensation via Okuma’s Thermo-Friendly Concept, ensuring machining accuracy during long cycles.
