A+Technical Description
The Okuma MU-10000H is a robust 5-axis horizontal machining center designed for heavy-duty, high-precision machining of large and complex workpieces up to 5,500 lbs. It features substantial travels of 61.02" (X), 62.99" (Y), and 64.96" (Z) with simultaneous 5-axis capability including a 35° A-axis tilt and full 360° B-axis rotation, allowing for intricate multitasking and contouring. The machine is equipped with a 60 HP spindle motor delivering up to 6,000 RPM (standard) or 4,500 RPM (optional), optimized for high torque and high-speed cutting, best suited for titanium, nickel-based alloys, and aerospace components. Tool handling is managed via an Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) which can optionally be expanded to house up to 300 tools. The MU-10000H’s solid construction includes a 1m² trunnion table engineered for stability and precision, supporting heavy workpieces without compromising accuracy. Its THINC-OSP P200MA CNC control integrates advanced 5-axis programming with Okuma’s Super NURBS for smooth contouring and optional Collision Avoidance System (CAS), enhancing productivity and safety. Though no pallet changer is included in this model, the machine’s large working envelope and high feed and rapid traverse rates facilitate efficient machining cycles across diverse industries like aerospace and heavy equipment manufacturing. This machining center provides a durable, stable, and highly versatile platform optimized for complex, high-volume production environments requiring exacting standards of accuracy and surface finish.
