Technical Description
The Okuma MULTUS B250II is a high-precision horizontal machining center featuring dual main spindles designed for multitasking with a maximum turning diameter of 23.62 inches (600 mm) and an 8-inch chuck diameter. It operates with two main spindles, each capable of 5,000 RPM and delivering 30 HP spindle power, facilitating versatile simultaneous milling and turning operations. The machine supports rapid traversal rates up to 1,575 inches per minute on the X, Y, and Z axes, enabling fast and efficient material handling.
Equipped with a 225° B-axis range and a high-speed 12,000 RPM (optional 20,000 RPM) H1 milling spindle, the MULTUS B250II consolidates lathe, vertical, and horizontal machining center functions within a compact footprint, reducing setup time and increasing throughput. Its advanced OSP-P300 control system, featuring Collision Avoidance System software, ensures safer, error-free simulations by preventing machining collisions. The machine supports up to 20 to 60 tools with an automatic tool changer, optimizing multitool processing flexibility.
Okuma’s Thermo-Friendly construction maintains accuracy by compensating for temperature variations, making it suitable for complex part machining. Optional features include a sub-spindle for handling parts between spindles without repositioning and integrated factory automation with the ARMROID robotic system, which enhances productivity by automating part loading, chatter suppression, and chip removal. Overall, the MULTUS B250II is engineered for high efficiency, accuracy, and multitasking capability in demanding manufacturing environments.
