Technical Description
The Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH BA 600 Horizontal Machining Center is a robust CNC solution engineered for high-precision and high-efficiency manufacturing. It features a large table measuring 55.9" x 26.57" capable of supporting workpieces up to 1,540 lbs, with optional rotary table support for enhanced versatility. The machine is equipped with two horizontal main spindles using HSK A100 taper tooling, delivering up to 10,000 RPM and 50 HP (30-minute rating) with an optional 5,000 RPM/36 HP setting. This spindle configuration enables high-speed and power-intensive machining operations. Its tooling system includes an 80-station pick-up tool carrier, upgradable to 100 tools, with rapid tool change times of 4.5 seconds. The pallet changer comes standard with two pallets, expandable to four, optimizing workpiece loading and minimizing downtime. The BA 600 operates on three axes (X, Y, Z) with travel ranges of up to 23.6" x 23.6" x 19.7", rapid traverse speeds of 1,768 IPM, and an optional fourth U axis for additional machining flexibility. The HSK A100 taper tool holders provide rigid, high-precision tool clamping and allow for efficient high-speed machining with excellent surface finishes due to their precise interface and high repeatability. Overall, the BA 600 is designed for heavy-duty horizontal machining tasks requiring dual-spindle productivity, extensive tooling capacity, and high accuracy supported by modern HSK tooling standards.
