The STARRAG LX 021 is a high-precision 5-axis vertical machining center optimized for turbine blade manufacturing, featuring compact dimensions with X, Y, and Z axis travels of 15.7" (399 mm), 7.9" (201 mm), and 16.1" (409 mm) respectively. It is powered by a 20 kW spindle capable of speeds up to 30,000 RPM, utilizing an HSK-A40 taper for tool retention. The machine supports a robust 320-station automatic tool changer, enabling high production flexibility and efficiency. Equipped with a Siemens 840D CNC control, it ensures precise machining with linear axis positioning accuracy of 0.004 mm and rotary axis precision suitable for complex blade geometries. Its thermo-symmetrical cast design offers outstanding stability and low vibration, critical for maintaining surface integrity and dimensional accuracy during the machining of superalloy turbine blades.
