Technical Description
This CNC lathe features a 20-inch swing and a 160-inch machining length, enabling it to handle medium to large workpieces with high precision. The machine is controlled by the FAGOR 8055 TC CNC system, a versatile and powerful controller capable of managing up to 3 axes and supporting advanced functions such as multi-level canned cycles for turning, facing, taper turning, and threading. The FAGOR 8055 TC provides a fully alphanumeric keyboard interface, multiple communication ports including RS-232, RS-422, and USB for easy program upload, and support for off-line programming systems. It offers various operation modes including execution, single block, MDI/Teach-In, jog/manual, conversational, and communication modes, facilitating flexible programming and machine operation.
The controller supports precise spindle speed and feedrate control, with feed rates adjustable from 0.00001 to 7900 inches/min, and features like automatic tool calibration, tool inspection with program interruption and resume, and sophisticated threading cycles including partial and multi-entry thread repair. It accommodates high-speed integrated PLC functionality with 16 inputs and 8 outputs, spindle synchronization, linear, circular, and helical interpolation, tangential control for consistent cutter orientation, and rigid tapping cycles.
Additionally, the machine supports graphical program editing and a variety of canned cycles including drilling, boring, reaming, and milling operations, enhancing its versatility for complex machining tasks. The FAGOR 8055 TC’s capability to manage spindle logic outputs, probe inputs, electronic handwheels, and optional modules for axis expansion makes this lathe configuration highly adaptable for precision manufacturing in demanding production environments.
