This CNC lathe features a 30-inch swing and a machining length of 118 inches, designed for high-precision turning operations on large workpieces. It is equipped with the advanced Fagor 8055TC control system, providing robust CNC functionality for both manual and automated machining tasks. The Fagor 8055TC offers a user-friendly interface with interactive graphic data entry, symbol keys, and multiple operating modes including automatic, single block, MDI/Teach-In, jog/manual, and communications mode. The control supports background editing, tool data backup, and automatic part repetition, enhancing productivity and minimizing setup time. It features a high-speed integrated PLC with 16 digital inputs and 8 outputs, expandable via remote I/O modules, and supports digital servo or analog drive communication for precise axis control. The system allows for up to 7 axes and 2 spindles, with spindle synchronization, orientation (M19), and tangential control for complex machining requirements. The CNC provides versatile canned cycles for turning, facing, taper turning, slot milling, profile milling, multiple drilling, boring, reaming, and bolt hole patterns. It supports programmable spindle speed, constant surface speed, and up to 4 spindle speed ranges managed via M41–M44 commands, enabling optimal speed and torque selection for various machining needs. The control includes USB and RS-232 ports for easy program transfer and communication, as well as Ethernet connectivity (optional). Additional features include tool inspection with auto-return, mid-program start, repeat of program sections, and automatic tool calibration.
