Technical Description

This CNC lathe features a robust swing of 47.2 inches and a machining length of 200 inches, making it suitable for large-diameter and long-part turning operations. It is equipped with the advanced FAGOR 8055 TC control system, which provides comprehensive CNC capabilities for precision machining. The FAGOR 8055 TC offers a fully alphanumeric keyboard, 2-3 axis control, and multiple communication ports including RS-232, RS-422, and USB for seamless program transfer and integration with off-line programming systems. The control supports a wide range of canned cycles for turning, facing, taper turning, and threading, as well as user-defined cycles and conversational programming for enhanced workflow efficiency. Operating modes include execution, single block, MDI/Teach-In, jog/manual, communications, and background editing, allowing flexible operation for various machining needs. The system features automatic tool calibration, tool inspection with auto-return, mid-program start, and programmable spindle speed, supporting up to 999,999 main programs with 15 nesting levels. The control also provides override functions for feedrate and spindle, zero offsets, and an on-board graphic editor for program visualization. The CNC supports both ISO and high-level programming languages, with editing options in CNC language, profile editor, and interactive editor. Additional features include high-speed PLC with 16 inputs and 8 outputs, digital servo or analog drive communication, and support for tangential control and RTCP for complex tool path management. The machine’s large working envelope and advanced control system ensure high productivity and accuracy for demanding lathe applications.
