Technical Description
The TORNOS MULTIDECO 20/6 is a high-performance horizontal multispindle machining center designed for precise and efficient mass production of turned parts. It features six main spindles, each capable of a maximum turning diameter of 0.790 inches (20 mm) and a maximum turning length of 3.940 inches (100 mm), supporting bar diameters up to 0.790 inches. The main spindles operate at speeds up to 6,000 RPM with 15 HP motors each, ensuring robust machining power. The included sub spindle also supports a turning diameter of 0.790 inches and runs at speeds up to 8,000 RPM.
The machine is equipped with two primary slide-type tool carriers supporting a combined total of up to seven turning and rotary tools for simultaneous multi-axis machining. It allows up to eight cutting tools to work simultaneously, controlled across 18 numerical axes for high precision and complex part geometry. Rotary tools have 2.9 HP and rotate at 2,900 RPM, facilitating milling, drilling, or tapping in addition to turning.
This advanced multispindle lathe supports high productivity with production capacities around 45 pieces per minute and total power requirements near 43 kVA. The system includes features such as spindle cooling and optional bar feeding systems for continuous operation. Overall, the TORNOS MULTIDECO 20/6 combines multispindle technology with versatile tool configurations and high spindle power for efficient, accurate machining of small to medium-sized turned components.
