Technical Description

The TRAK LPM Vertical Machining Center is a compact, high-mix low-volume production platform featuring the ProtoTRAK PMX conversational CNC control. This 7,000-lb machine delivers powerful yet user-friendly operation through its intuitive control system that eliminates complex code requirements in favor of English-language prompts and soft-key navigation. The machine accommodates workpieces on a 35" x 19.5" table rated for 1,000 lbs maximum load, with 31" X-axis, 19" Y-axis, and 20" Z-axis travel capability. The spindle nose height adjusts from 4" to 24" above the table, providing flexibility for varied part geometries. Equipped with a 15 HP motor delivering 8,000 RPM maximum spindle speed and CAT 40 taper, the machine achieves rapid traverse rates of 800 IPM and cutting feed rates to 500 IPM. A 16-station tool changer accommodates tools up to 15 lbs and 12" length with 3.5" maximum diameter. The integrated ProtoTRAK PMX control runs conversational programming, G-code, CAM, and 2D/3D CAD conversion software with machining simulation verification. Notable features include rigid tapping, integrated tool offset measurement eliminating expensive probing systems, internal wash-down nozzles, halogen work lights, mobile tool-setting cart, chip auger, and auto-lubrication. The system requires 220V three-phase power, 90 PSI air supply, and maintains 20-gallon coolant capacity. Optional 4th-axis capability extends programming versatility for complex geometries.
