The TREVISAN DS1200/450C is a heavy-duty horizontal machining center designed for large, complex parts with a maximum workpiece weight of 55,000 lbs and a table size of 94.48" x 94.48". It features a 4-axis configuration with an optional 5th axis and incorporates a powerful horizontal spindle delivering 50 HP at up to 2,000 RPM, suitable for heavy milling, drilling, and tapping. The machine integrates a 1200 mm diameter U-axis contour head with three tool pocket positions on a 450 mm travel slide, enabling full CNC lathe capabilities such as constant surface speed, single-point threading, and advanced contour turning operations. The contour head supports turning diameters up to 2000 mm (78.7") and can operate interchangeably with the milling spindle.
Tooling is managed via an automatic tool changer (ATC) with a standard capacity of 40 tools, expandable up to 120, facilitating rapid tool changes within 12 seconds. A pallet changer system is standard with two pallets, optionally expandable to four, improving productivity by enabling continuous operation. Axis travels are extensive: X at 145.67", Y at 74.8", Z at 86.61", with a 360° rotary B-axis for complex angular machining. The machine’s advanced design offers a U-axis as standard and optional rotary tables, supporting parts up to 55,000 lbs, enabling simultaneous milling and turning in one setup with exceptional rigidity and precision. The DS1200/450C’s modular and customizable architecture suits large-scale, multitasking machining typical for valve components, aerospace, energy, and heavy industry applications.
