A+Technical Description
The TRIMA C400TM is a conventional 2-axis universal lathe designed for versatile metal turning operations. This machine features a 400mm (15.75 inches) swing over bed, accommodating workpieces up to 200mm (7.87 inches) in height of centers. The lathe offers three configurable distance-between-centers options of 750mm, 1000mm, or 1500mm (approximately 59.06 inches maximum), providing flexibility for various workpiece lengths. Equipped with a DIN 55027 spindle nose and a 52mm spindle bore, the C400TM delivers robust spindle performance with 12 selectable speeds ranging from 50 to 2,240 RPM, powered by a 4kW (5.36 HP) main motor. The machine incorporates 80 different feeds with longitudinal feed ranges from 0.015 to 0.6mm/rev and cross feed ranges from 0.0075 to 0.3mm/rev, enabling precise cutting operations. The lathe supports 40 different thread types including metric (0.25-7.5mm), inch (120-4 TPI), module, and DP threads, making it suitable for specialized threading applications. Construction features a heavy, highly ribbed cast-iron bed with double prismatic, induction-hardened guide ways that prevent vibration during operation. The carriage includes a cross slide travel of 235mm and top slide travel of 110mm. A built-in gap bridge allows removal for processing larger workpieces, while the tailstock features a 60mm quill diameter with Morse No. 4 taper and 100mm quill travel.
