Technical Description
The TRIMILL HC 1212 - 2012 is a heavy-duty horizontal machining center designed for high-precision machining of pressing tools, injection molds, and forging dies. It features a rigid, thermo-symmetrically designed horizontal gantry with a unique "box-in-box" closed cross-beam and cross-slide construction that ensures exceptional stability, accuracy, and thermal stability for consistent cutting results. The machine supports 4 axes, including a 360° rotary table as standard, facilitating complex 4-axis machining in a single setup. Its large worktable measures approximately 63" x 63" and can accommodate workpieces up to 33,069 lbs, optimized for fixed stationary workpieces for superior surface quality.
The spindle is horizontal with an HSK-A100 taper, offering a standard speed of up to 12,000 RPM, optionally 14,000 RPM, and a powerful 44 HP (30-minute rating), with an optional upgrade to 53 HP for higher performance. The machine uses an automatic tool changer holding 12 tools by default, with an option for a 50-tool carousel, but it does not support pallet changers. The travel ranges are 47.24" in X and Y axes (optionally up to 78.7" in X), 31.5" in Z, and full 360° rotary axis in B, all with rapid traverse and feed rates reaching 1,181 inches per minute.
Ergonomically designed for floor-level access, this robust machining center excels in roughing and finishing operations with high productivity and efficient chip evacuation, especially in deep cavity machining, making it suitable for high-volume industrial production environments requiring superior surface quality and precision.
