Technical Description

The Tsugami/REM Sales B020-II Horizontal Machining Center is a precision CNC lathe optimized for turning and milling tasks on bars up to 0.790" diameter, with a maximum turning length of 6.690". It features a single main spindle capable of 10,000 RPM and 5 HP, complemented by a sub spindle operating at up to 12,000 RPM with 3 HP. The machine employs a slide-type primary tool carrier supporting up to 13 turning tools and 4 rotary tools, with rotary tools rated at 0.66 HP and 5,000 RPM. It supports simultaneous one-tool cutting and provides secondary mill/drill functions on- and off-center, including standard Y-axis control and optional C-axis milling, enhancing multifunctional machining capabilities. The machine operates with 3 axes standard and can be optionally expanded to 4 axes, offering X, Y, and Z travels of 235 mm each and rapid traverse rates of 945 inches per minute across all axes. Designed for Swiss-type precision, it features enriched NC functions such as tool nose radius compensation, chamfering, corner rounding, and cutoff detection under Fanuc 0i-TD CNC control. This system enables high-speed, high-accuracy machining for complex parts, combining rigidity, compact design, and flexible tooling configurations to reduce cycle time and increase productivity in small to medium batch production environments. The B020-II supports secondary milling and live tooling, making it versatile for complex multi-operation cycles on precision metal parts.
