The Nrm Pacemaker III is a 4.5-inch single screw plastic extrusion line designed for high-pressure operations up to 10,000 PSI. This 1974 model features a 4.5-inch (115 mm) diameter screw with a 32:1 L/D ratio and was modernized in 2015 with a full electrical upgrade. The extruder utilizes an air-cooled barrel with six temperature zones and a heat-treated alloy steel screw. The drive system consists of a 200 HP AC motor paired with a Vacon AC variable speed vector drive. The control architecture includes a modernized HMI control panel, digital multi-zone temperature controls, and closed-loop process control. Performance output ranges from 900 to over 1,700 lbs/hr depending on the material processed. The integrated downstream line components include a Maag melt pump, a sheet/film roll stack, a refurbished roll stand, a calendering/chill roll section, a sheet take-off system, a die head, and a scrap collection system. The unit operates on 460V, 60Hz, 3-phase power and has an estimated footprint of 25 feet in length, 12 feet in width, and 16 feet in height, with a total weight of approximately 45,000 lbs.
