The ALM MHL2P Welding Positioner is a 7,000 lb. capacity 3-axis skyhook positioner featuring hydraulically controlled elevation and rotation. It operates on 480-volt, 3-phase, 40-amp power and features a 48-inch by 55-inch base plate with a 40-inch part or fixture spin radius. The system utilizes a Plug N Play (PNP) automation-ready controls platform with a split high/low voltage architecture, a 10-inch PanelView Performance HMI touch-screen, a Micro850 controller, ALM patented motion control software, and a wireless pendant with two-stage speed control. Axis 1 (Lift) provides 68.5 inches of upward travel in 35 seconds with a gravity-down system. Axis 2 (Tilt) and Axis 3 (Rotate) both offer 360-degree rotation using 17-inch rotators supplying 133,600 in-lbs. of torque at variable speeds ranging from 0.3 to 2.3 RPM, with a standard 4-port rotary union on rotator #1. Additional features include an electronically operated safety pawl, ethernet IP upgradeability for robotic applications, and a 400-amp skyhook kit with two grounds and two adapter plates.
