Elastocon Eb 16-II Hot Set Tester 60L +40C to +250C, 2200W, 240V

The Elastocon EB 16-II hot set tester is designed for hot set testing of cable insulation and sheathing materials according to IEC 60811-2-1, IEC 60811-507, and equivalent standards. Built on a high-precision ageing oven, the unit features a stainless steel inner chamber with a 60-liter useful volume and a temperature range of +40 °C to +250 °C. Temperature control is maintained via a PT 100 sensor and micro PLC with a color touch screen, offering a setpoint resolution of 0.1 °C and variations in time and space of ± 0.25 °C and ± 0.5%, respectively. To minimize heat loss, samples are introduced through a small opening in the top. A servo motor-driven screw system moves the sample holder to maintain a stable working height. The oven utilizes a controlled air exchange rate (3–200 changes/hour) and low air speed (<0.001 m/s) monitored by a flow meter. Measurements are performed through a four-pane glass window using a door-mounted laser pointer for elongation and a digital caliper for tension set. Data is transmitted via Bluetooth or wireless connection to a computer for automated reporting in spreadsheet templates. Safety features include adjustable over/under temperature alarms, a fixed over-temperature fuse at 340 °C, and cooling channels in the powder-coated steel casing to maintain low surface temperatures. The system operates on 220–240 V, 50 Hz power with a 2,200 W rating and weighs approximately 120 kg.
