The Sharp TMV-1 is a vertical knee milling machine featuring a 10" x 54" table size with 39" longitudinal (X-axis) travel and 16.3" cross (Y-axis) travel. Powered by a 5 HP spindle motor, it offers variable speed operation ranging from 60 to 4,500 RPM. The spindle utilizes an NT-40 (NST #40) taper and provides 5" of quill travel featuring a mirror-finished, chromed design for down-feed accuracy. Engineered with hardened and ground box ways on the column and saddle, the TMV-1 ensures rigidity and vibration dampening. The saddle is designed with a hand-scraped underside for oil retention to protect the knee ways from chips and debris. Additionally, it incorporates a double-nut backlash control system on the table and saddle to maintain constant contact with the feed screws.
