Technical Description
The Amera Seiki AHBM W Horizontal Machining Center is a robust 5-axis CNC machine designed for heavy-duty precision machining of large workpieces. It features a large work table measuring 63 x 55.1 inches, capable of supporting workpieces up to 17,600 lbs, with a standard rotary table integrated for enhanced positioning flexibility. The machine’s horizontal spindle uses a BT50 taper with a 3,000 RPM maximum speed and delivers 35 HP (30-minute rating) for powerful cutting performance. The spindle rotation direction is horizontal, optimized for milling, boring, and drilling large, complex parts.
The machine offers extensive travel capacities: 78.7 inches in X (upgradable to 125.98 inches), 70.86 inches in Y, and 67 inches in Z, each supported by high feed rates and rapid traverse speeds up to 394 ipm, ensuring efficient material removal and cycle times. The B-axis provides full 360° rotation, enabling multi-face machining without repositioning the workpiece, and an optional U-axis enhances multi-axis machining capabilities.
Equipped with an Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) carrying 40 tools (expandable to 60), the tool change time is approximately 15 seconds, supporting versatile, uninterrupted machining operations. Pallet changers are not standard but available as an option to improve workflow for repetitive setups. The machine is engineered for demanding industrial applications requiring large-scale, high-precision, multi-axis machining such as aerospace, heavy equipment, and energy sectors. Its rigid construction and advanced controls ensure superior surface finish, accuracy, and throughput for complex, high-value parts.
