The Bardons & Oliver SC-24 Horizontal Machining Center is a heavy-duty CNC lathe designed for precision turning of large chucker-style parts. It features a main spindle with a maximum turning diameter of 33.0", turning length up to 20.5", and a 24.0" chuck diameter. The main spindle can accommodate bar stock up to 8.0" in diameter and has a maximum swing of 41.5". Powered by a 54 HP motor, the spindle operates at speeds up to 1,600 RPM, providing robust cutting capability. The machine also includes a sub spindle capable of turning diameters up to 33.0" with a maximum length of 12.0", powered by a 54 HP motor at 1,600 RPM, enabling efficient secondary operations. The SC-24 is equipped with a turret tool carrier supporting up to 12 turning tools and 6 rotary tools, with rotary tooling powered at 10 HP and speeds up to 2,000 RPM. It supports single simultaneous cutting tool operation with 2-axis CNC control (X and Z axes), featuring 12.75" travel on the X axis and high feed rates to 200 IPM, with rapid traverse rates of 400 IPM on all axes. This configuration provides high precision and productivity for complex turning tasks, ideal for large-diameter, heavy-duty machining applications requiring both main and sub spindle operations.
