Technical Description

The BEPEX PCX Static Smooth Drum Roller is a high-capacity, advanced drying system designed for processing high-moisture, non-pumpable materials at a virgin feed rate of 15,000 lb/hr and producing a dried product rate of 5,842 lb/hr. It is powered by a robust 500 Hp motor, with an exhaust fan driven by a 600 Hp motor, ensuring efficient operation and handling of moisture-laden air. The machine accommodates a bag length of 100 inches and features a sophisticated control system based on Allen Bradley CompactLogix PLC technology, providing precise automation and operational reliability. Control components are housed in a NEMA 4 stainless steel (SST) enclosure, while the motor control center is protected by a NEMA 12 steel enclosure, ensuring durability and compliance with industrial safety requirements. The system includes a remote control panel equipped with start/stop push buttons for operator convenience. The PCX dryer utilizes a unique dispersion flash drying technology where material is dispersed onto rotating plates inside the drying chamber, increasing surface area for rapid heat and mass transfer. This results in efficient drying with minimal residence time under five seconds, preserving the quality of temperature-sensitive materials through evaporative cooling. The system’s design enables high evaporation rates with low energy consumption and a smaller footprint compared to traditional dryers. The drying process produces consistent, fine powder or granules, suitable for sensitive and organic materials, with adjustable parameters that allow control over particle size and shear during processing.
