A+Technical Description
The Burkhardt+Weber MCR 750 is a horizontal machining center engineered for heavy-duty precision work with exceptional rigidity and thermal stability. This three-axis machine (expandable to four axes with optional B-axis) features a 24.8" × 24.8" pallet table and accommodates workpieces up to 3,300 lbs. The machine employs an HSK-A 100 taper spindle with a standard maximum speed of 5,500 rpm and an optional 10,000 rpm capability, delivering 49.3 HP at 30-minute rating. Travel ranges include 43.31" in X and Z axes (with optional Z extension to 49.21") and 33.2" in the Y axis, all achieving rapid traverse rates of 1,179 ipm. The automatic tool changer accommodates 120 tools as standard, expandable to 570 tools for maximum flexibility, with a tool change chip time of 13 seconds. The machine features manually scraped linear guideways in accuracy class G0, a temperature-controlled machine bed with active cooling throughout, and water-cooled axis drives ensuring long-term accuracy and thermal compensation. Its cast gantry column provides exceptional damping properties and thermal inertia. The MCR 750 offers optional dual-pallet and multi-pallet changers (up to 8 pallets), enabling loading and unloading at a separate station while the machine continues machining operations, optimizing production efficiency. All components are manufactured to DIN EN ISO 9001 standards, representing premium German engineering designed for applications requiring superior surface finish and dimensional precision.
