Technical Description
The Campro PV-5221 is a high-precision vertical machining center designed for large, heavy-duty machining applications. It features a robust table measuring 196.85" x 66.93" capable of supporting workpieces up to 26,455 lbs, ideal for aerospace, automotive, and industrial part manufacturing. The machine operates on a 3-axis configuration with travels of 165.35" (X), 82.68" (Y), and 29.52" (Z), each axis equipped with linear guideways and rapid traverses up to 787 IPM for efficient and precise positioning. The spindle is vertical with a CAT-50 Big Plus taper, driven by a 25 HP gear-head motor delivering up to 6,000 RPM and 384 ft-lbs of torque, suitable for a wide range of cutting operations. A twin-arm automatic tool changer holds 32 tools, with tool change times of 3.5 seconds and chip-to-chip times of 7 seconds, enabling high productivity. Constructed with a one-piece monobloc column and single-piece cast base, the machine provides exceptional rigidity, thermal stability, and vibration damping. Additional features include scraped contact surfaces for enhanced stability and an optional 34 HP, 10,000 RPM built-in motor spindle for high-speed machining. The PV-5221 requires 50 KVA power capacity and integrates advanced control for precise machining of large molds, composites, and structural components with positioning accuracy of ±0.0002" and repeatability of ±0.00008". This center offers a rigid, high-performance platform combining long travels, heavy load capacity, and automated tool handling to optimize complex, large-format manufacturing tasks.
